Tapestry Landscape Architecture work process - Landscape Design & Landscape Installation

How Your Project Will Proceed

As Licensed Landscape Architects, we know that the best results come from careful planning.  It is important for us to understand your project needs and wants.  It is also important to understand your property’s natural features and the township regulations at the beginning of every project.  We recommend an initial meeting at your property with one of our design professionals to discuss the following planning process with respect to your property and goals.

Design

Initially, we will meet with you on the site of your project to determine the scope of work, discuss some ideas and show you our portfolio of work. At this time we will discuss our design fees and your budget.

Once we are engaged as your landscape architects, we will go back to the site with your site plan and do a complete site analysis, locating all important items, taking spot elevations and assessing the soils and grading. Next, we will come up with a few different concept plans, perhaps showing you two or three different layouts for a driveway or maybe a few different pool layouts. We will meet with you in your home to discuss these.

Next we will refine these drawings in accordance with your input, then choose plantings and materials from which we develop an estimate. We will then review this plan with you in our office, where we can show you samples of materials and walk through a nursery to see the plants.

Finally, we will complete the plan, with a complete plant list, key and notes.

Conceptual Landscape Plans and Sketches

Step One:  After an analysis of the property and research of the most current township regulations, we will create a conceptual landscape plan and 3 –D sketches. We will also create rough cost estimates for the construction to aid in refining the plans within budget.

Final Landscape Plans and Construction Details

Step Two: With your feedback, we create a more detailed final landscape plan which is more of a working drawing to be used for estimating and accurate layout.  Construction details provide further information for construction and can be used for permitting with the town.

Installation and Project Management

Step Three: We will turn your landscape plan into reality by coordinating with the finest installation contractors in the industry to implement your design.  We work closely with our sister company, Scenic Landscaping LLC, to put together a team of masons, horticulturalists, pool installers, carpenters, and lighting and irrigation specialists.
